Don’t Shrink Solano
Road Diets are policies intended to control traffic and reduce auto travel by reducing the width of streets and making it less appealing to travel by car. The Solano cycle track proposal is a good example. Road diets have been a favorite of traffic engineers for more than a decade, but they often come with unintended consequences. The city council has not reported research, or even mentioned, the history of failed road diets in Los Angeles and other cities.
